C Team, Cambodia April 2013
Ps Lois Cronin, Anna Nyhuis, Sherone Dyer, Kayla Massing & Olivia Watson went to Cambodia for 8 days to train Childrens Workers. They were mostly based in Moung Russey, about 5 hours bus trip north from Phnom Penh.
They had 1 day of training where 17 were involved; 2 days of facilitating 4 Outreaches in farming villages; and another day for feedback and answering questions. Sunday was involved in ministry in the local church.
The team found some of the Leaders well equipped in leading children, and the rest very teachable and were very quick to put into practice what they had been learning. The Team also took some medical supplies and donated them to the local Moung Russey Hospital.
With finances donated by Embrace just before the C Team left, the money was spent on putting up a more permanent structure for a school at Toultaton. The tarpaulin roof was ripped to shreds during a storm while we were staying in Moung Russey. This donation was greatly appreciated.
SECC is involved in the development of Land development for multipurpose building (Community Centre, Church, Leadership Training Centre) in Kampong Chhnang, along with Leadership Development in Moung Russey.
Ps Mike and Lois Cronin, Ps Brian Birkett, Ps Kevin Clark went to Cambodia in 2011 to look at the land donated by Porn Khat. They also followed up opportunities and contacts received from the earlier visit in April.
They met up with Pastor Sophal in the north-west area of the country (Moung Russey) and are hopeful of working together with him to train church leaders and plant churches.
We are also raising funds for Leadership Development in Moung Russey.
