A Note from our Senior Minister
As life becomes increasingly busy and complex it’s great to have a spiritual home that refreshes and recharges you, a place that is also filled with friendly people who serve God with passion.
South Eastern Christian Centre has been an inspiring and influential home to people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds for three decades. It continually offers a diverse range of opportunities to connect with friends and those in the wider community.
Our vision is to be a God-dependant people impacting communities and reaching nations for Christ. It is a privilege for me to be able to share this exciting journey of faith with such a committed group of great people.
Why not consider visiting us soon. Maybe South Eastern Christian Centre could become a place to call home for you too!
God-Dependent people impacting communities and reaching nations for Christ
Our mission is to be “Creating Dynamic Disciples of Christ” in all that we do. It is an awesome privilege to partner with Spirit-empowered men, women and children who connect people to the life-changing message of Jesus. We offer personal mentoring and development through our small “Growth” groups where leaders pray for and equip people to represent Christ effectively in their everyday lives.
Supplementing this is a discipleship pathway which runs within or alongside these groups to give maximum flexibility in resourcing Christian living. This involves five important STEPS to becoming Disciples for Christ:
Salvation – Discovering Christ: An introduction to the Christian faith and to a personal life-changing relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Teaching – Growing in Christ: Basic keys to effective Christian living.
Equipping – Partners for Christ: a short introduction to understanding the church’s DNA, your own gifts, and an optimum Christian life. (Entry point for Christians new to SECC who are then welcome to officially join the family).
Preparing – Leaders for Christ: a short leadership preparation course to equip each person for maximum impact. (Requirement for those applying for leadership).
Starting Over – Releasing each Christian to effectively connect with others in alignment with our vision and in accountability to others helps to outwork Christ’s commission of Matthew 28:18-20. After all, He calls us to make disciples and not just to be disciples. Each person connected starts the STEPS for themselves.
South Eastern Christian Centre remains a church where, for over three decades, people of all ages and backgrounds have been made to feel welcome.
Statement of Faith
We believe in God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and that the original text of the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God and the basis for faith and practice. Salvation is given by God’s grace and is found through faith in no-one else but Jesus Christ who will one day return to the Earth. The infilling of the Holy Spirit empowers Christians to serve as part of the local church in conjunction with the Church worldwide, to partner in Christ’s mission to redeem the lost. Gifts of the Spirit, including divine healing, are available for Christians today.
About South Eastern Christian Centre
South Eastern Christian Centre is a Pentecostal church located in Endeavour Hills, Victoria in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. We are focused on "creating dynamic disciples of Christ" through a significant emphasis on participation in small "growth" groups. Running programs for various age groups, the church also holds training courses for various needs, including a government-accredited Bible College program. We hold weekly English and non-English speaking services, as well as numerous other community initiatives.
Commencing in Narre Warren in 1979 under the leadership of Mike and Lois Cronin this church grew quickly before moving to its present site in 1988. South Eastern Christian Centre has spawned several new churches in Melbourne and also supports the development of churches, leadership training and welfare support throughout the Philippines. We are also currently developing churches and community programs in Cambodia.
South Eastern Christian Centre partners with other local churches via the Casey Pastors Network which seeks to impact leaders to impact the city. We are also a member church of the CRC Churches International movement which began in Australia and now has over 600 churches internationally, with 120 in Australia. The CRC has a bold vision to establish a presence in every nation by its hundredth anniversary in 2045.
